Entrance Control Technical Coordinator based in Alberta (Canada)

Job Description:

This position will be the primary contact for all EC related technical matters for Gunnebo’s business partners as well as support project coordination in close collaboration with key stakeholders and subcontractors. Through his expertise, he/she will ensure continued and sustained customer satisfaction with the product and the interaction with Gunnebo. He / She will ensure company specifications and customer expectations are met, by maintaining an oversight on EC projects, ensuring that all products are installed, commissioned and maintained in accordance with the relevant procedures and standards. Responsible for supporting internal and external customers by acting as the project coordinator and technical Entrance Control subject matter expert. This will include working with GEC manufacturing and/or EC product area team to ensure project deliverables and customer expectations are met at all time. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Trainer for Channel Partners
    • Technical subject matter expert for Entrance Control
    • Develop training courses with strategies
    • Create resource training material
  • Technical Support Expert
    • Primary point of contact for partner’s technicians
    • Remote support to partner’s pre-trained technicians
    • Support for End-user escalations
    • Support for project derailment
    • Onsite support when assessed necessary
    • Support to installation and commissioning on new products introductions
  • Resource Development
    • Pre-project site preparation support to partners
    • Create or source technical installation guides
    • Create or source end user manuals
    • When onsite support required, create and complete visit reports
    • Become familiar with and utilize iAuditor reporting for projects
  • Sales Support
    • Provide Technical expertise for RFP’s (Request for Proposal)
    • Provide last level approval on project specification and order accuracy
    • Design custom solutions as required
    • Create PMA guides, documents and reports
    • Create technical documents for partners
    • Information sourcing and development
    • Provide technical drawings
  • Project Management
    • Main point of contact for partners for project information and coordination pre-project coordination support to partners
    • Technical support to partner for product integration with 3rd party systems
    • Training requirement assessment and relevant proposal to partners
    • Logistical coordination with factories and partners
    • Develop CSA/ULC modification instructions for EC equipment to meet code
    • Coordinate CSA modifications and inspection work
    • Attend project stakeholder meetings when required
    • Post project quality control & project review when required
  • Customization Support
    • Ensure compliance to Codes & Regulations
    • Custom solution design and validation with EC experts
    • Custom solution sourcing
    • Provide Compliance documents
    • Innovative integration
  • Identify & Create Sales Opportunities
    • This will include working closely with the EC Business Area team to ensure Long term sales planning and product sales development
  • Report any quality or production issues to the manufacturing department using the non-compliance Note system (NCN) to ensure corrective action and compensation is actioned
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through writing of relevant reports regarding fault trends, problems associated with products and recommended improvements.

Experience Requirements:

  • Strong Technical Entrance Control / Access Control knowledge
  • Proven diagnostic skills able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems
  • Experience with reading / interpreting / drawing / building plans / wiring diagrams
  • Proven project management experience ideally in the field of security and access control
  • Experience in providing expert support and coordination of System integrators and other indirect partners
  • Proven ability to structure and deliver technical training
  • Ability to achieve through others with proven experience in managing complex projects
  • Experience in delivering high-quality customer service to a broad range of customers
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to effectively use test equipment, hand and power tools
  • Provide excellent customer service both over the phone and face to face, as well as have an ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences
  • Availability to work variable hours, weekends and/or "on-call" shifts as necessary to meet customer requirements
  • Experience managing Installation project budgets
  • Proficient in Office 365 and remote working tools such as TEAMS…
  • Valid G driver’s license is mandatory
  • Travel (up to 25%) may be required; passport is necessary
